If you want to boost your sales and profits, your restaurant needs to offer a delivery service. If we learned anything from the pandemic of 2020, it’s that food delivery is crucial in the survival of the food industry.
These are some compelling benefits of food delivery services. Check them out…
Restaurants see a 20% increase in check sizes from online and delivery orders versus dine-in orders. They could be ordering for a large party or stocking their fridge so they don’t have to cook for a few days. Isn’t it great that you can help them out?
The pandemic really hurt lots of restaurants and still people are wary to get back out in public. Offering delivery can help offset the income lost from closed or half-empty dining rooms while reaching new customers who are either practicing shelter-in-place or still uncomfortable going out, even as restrictions lessen.
There are people who are home-bound for various reasons and wouldn’t it be nice you could serve them a fresh hot meal? Other people just don’t feel like going out; They don’t feel like cooking either. Food delivery is the best way to help these customers. Sometimes customers just want your food paired with the comfort of their own home.
By offering Orderlivery, you’re able to serve a wider range of customers.
If delivery becomes the bulk of your business or if you shift to a ghost kitchen model, you could look at downsizing your space to save on rent or front-of-house staff to save on labor. More money for you!
Delivery can help you reach new customers outside of the regulars, locals, and other customers from surrounding neighborhoods, which is especially important when restaurants are operating at reduced capacity or people are still wary about dining out. Delivery is even more important in urban locations, where potential customers may not have access to a car.

Leslie, this was a fascinating read! The restaurant business is usually sluggish during inclement weather as footfalls drastically reduce. However, with online delivery, clients can browse menu items and order online. They get the benefit of obtaining their favorite meals without having to step outdoors. This adds a unique distribution platform for restaurants.
Thanks for reading!
I totally agree with what you said that delivery services are one of the ways for food businesses to reach the urban areas, and ultimately gain new customers. My best friend will visit me this weekend, and we want to relive our high school days by watching the whole Harry Potter franchise while eating lots of food. That being said, we’ll definitely find the best online food delivery service near our area.
Thank you for your input!
It was really interesting when you mentioned that restaurants see an increase of twenty percent when it comes to check sizes on online orders. I would think that it would be a good idea for a restaurant to use takeout services since so many people are staying home these days. The pandemic has changed things permanently it seems and using takeout services seems like an important change.
Technology – Isn’t it wonderful?!
